Defying the odds in Mwenezi

My name is Mariah Jakarasi, l am 30 years old and I live in Jawanda village, Mwenezi. As a health worker living in this village I never valued the importance of toilets in a community.

With the help of Nutrition Action Zimbabwe I joined hands with other women from the community. We started to build toilets to eradicate open defecation.

We have demystified the notion that women are only care givers. We are now able to mould bricks as well as build.
